Scores open Doors

I continue to offer expert-level tutoring for the PSAT, SAT and ACT on a limited basis. My students have a long history of achieving transformative score improvements on standardized tests, resulting in broader post-secondary options and significant merit-based awards.

The Numbers Tell the Story

Avg. SAT Score improvement : 120 points Avg. ACT Score improvement: 5 points

These are game changing numbers. This sustained track record of success and my ability to connect with young adults in a meaningful way is why parents across Western new York have placed their trust in me to help their sons and daughters achieve their "STANDARDIZED BEST".

THE ADMISSIONS LANDSCAPE

Standardized test scores remain a critical factor for admissions and scholarship decisions, even within an expanding test-optional landscape. Each and every year, low scores prevent countless deserving students from being accepted to their top-choice schools. Committing to a preparation plan that maximizes these scores can make the difference between acceptance and denial, between free money and a steeper price tag for college.

NO CONTRACT. NO MINIMUM NUMBER OF SESSIONS. SIMPLY THE MOST EFFECTIVE AND EMPOWERING TEST PREPARATION EXPERIENCE AVAILABLE ANYWHERE.

“I’m just writing to let you know how the college process turned out. I’ve been awarded the Chick Evans Scholarship (full tuition and housing) to the University of Notre Dame. Knockout test scores put me in the school/scholarship’s range, and I couldn’t have done it without you. Anyone would be lucky to have you as a tutor.

My highly attuned instruction creates a sense of ownership over the process, laying out the framework to meet or exceed a student’s potential while promoting intellectual and emotional growth, improving study skills, building self-esteem and fostering character traits that will outlast the test preparation process.

I place extraordinary emphasis on the mental/psychological components of preparation. Poor performance is often the result of an overwhelming sense of pressure, intimidation, and anxiety. I understand the way negative thoughts and self-doubt sabotage progress and prevent sustained attention to the task at hand. By teaching metacognitive strategies and the management of emotions- and by defining success incrementally- my approach helps to build a resilient and reliable mindset that replaces fear and anxiety with sureness and focus, empowering the student to apply all he or she has learned calmly, confidently, and consistently.

“The information and insight Brian provides on test strategy and skill improvement are terrific, but the confidence-building is especially invaluable. This helps to avoid frustration and burnout, reduce stress and allows the student to show what he knows.”
